Marcus Thorpe

PI Attorney
Marcus Thorpe is a seasoned personal injury attorney in the Buckhead office of Bader Law, bringing over 20 years of experience in criminal prosecution, insurance defense, and civil litigation. Born and raised in Atlanta, Marcus has built his career on a foundation of service, discipline, and a deep commitment to justice especially for those who have been injured through no fault of their own.
Marcus began his legal career as a district attorney in Indianapolis, where he prosecuted domestic violence cases. He later served in the Henry County District Attorney’s Office and has experience on both sides of the courtroom, having handled criminal defense and insurance defense matters before transitioning into personal injury. His greatest case victory to date – a $525,000 settlement on behalf of a young girl struck by a vehicle while walking to school reflects his dedication to fighting for life-changing outcomes.
Marcus holds a J.D. from Southern Illinois University and a dual bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also minored in African American studies and was a four-year letterman in football. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Known for his professional but aggressive approach, Marcus brings both legal skill and compassion to every case. He is active in the legal community, serving as president of the Clayton County Bar Association and a member of several state bar associations. He also gives back by coaching Georgia High School Mock Trial teams and participating in the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.
When he’s not in the courtroom or mentoring young legal minds, Marcus enjoys weightlifting and spending time with his daughter.
